Candy man. (standard tuning) This version of the famous Reverend Gary Davis has been documented
in at least three different publications that I've seen. I particularly like the arrangement from Happy
Traum. His tablatures are well thought out and make a direct reference to the recording where he transcribed
it from. Gary Davis had two versions of this piece. The one presented here was his simple version
that he would use as the accompanyment for his voice. He also had an instrumental version called "Two
Step Candyman" which had many variations and difficult syncopations. I think this version an excellent
way to introduce counterpoint in the bass line, and help you develop that independent right hand thumb!!
There are some nice variations that I think you'll find fun. I suggest that you might map out the bass
line and the chords first and then slowly add the melody line. Good luck ! Eric

TABULATURE you need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open this. If you don't have it, go HERE.
MP3s....a fast and slow version. Listen to the fast version a few times to get the feel of
the tune.
