Going to drop D tuning. You will hear me play with my right hand thumb the 6th (E) and then the
4th (D) string slowly back and forth. I tune the E string down a whole step until it matches with the
D string. I do this relatively quickly, making sure not to play two notes at the same time, but rather
playing the first note E (the origin) and then the second note D (the goal). Past experience has shown
me that a visual reference might help: Turn the tuning machine one third to almost a half turn clockwise
(20-25 minutes) and that will get you to the general vicinity of matching your D's for drop D tuning.
