The first thing you notice about this CD is that it makes you feel good. It's an indefinable quality
that hits you immediately and lasts through the whole disc. Then, as a guitar player you may notice how
beautiful the playing is and how effortlessly it flows.
This is not an impersonation of Reverend
Gary Davis, though there are many who do that. Eric Lugosch has internalized Davis' style to the point
where he can improvise within that style and still have it come out as his own: a whole new Davis-inspired
sound that goes where only Eric can take it.
This is no small feat as a musician and it's a
beautiful homage to the Reverend as well. But if you are just a casual listener, none of this matters
because this music is just plain fun to listen to. It does what great music is supposed to do. It makes
you feel good.
